Meet Kim - About the Founder
I am not new to health and wellness. At a young age, my passion and love for the game was ignited when my older sister introduced me to diet and exercise. I was a chunky teen, very self-conscientious, and little self esteem. At the age of 17, I began teaching fitness classes and continued teaching classes throughout my college and early corporate years. At the age of 31, my first son was born and priorities changed. In 2000, my family was faced with a unique challenge when my second son was born with a congenital leg disorder. This was a game changer. We faced a lifetime of surgeries for my son to give him the ability to walk with his own two feet on the ground.
In 2009, I got the opportunity to leave corporate America. After years of neglect to myself and my family's health, I decided that I needed to make a change. I needed to take my health and wellness seriously. I had to be a role model for my own kids, exemplifying how to muster through when life hits you hard.
Getting back into shape in my early forties was no easy feat. Twenty years ago, I was told to exercise more. If I wanted to lose weight, eat less. I was baffled. I thought I was eating healthy, but I still couldn’t lose weight, didn’t feel good, and lacked energy. I reduced my calories – I tried several diet programs. Eventually, I learned it wasn’t my fault. I was no longer eating food, but food-like products. What you eat can be responsible.

I created this platform to teach men and women how to get their system back on track. I created Emerge Fitness as a platform for all men and women who want to look better, feel better, and perform better. The old days of making excuses and carrying around excess fat will be gone forever. I teach you about your weaknesses and help you adapt new habits for long term solutions.
I am fiercely motivated by my own journey to help others overcome. I choose to focus on the positive and take strength from my journey.
