Did you ever look in the mirror and wonder where the time went? All those things you wanted to do but kept putting off until you had more time, more money, an empty house, fewer responsibilities, more energy, better health? As a coach of many men and women today, they all ask themselves that same question. They truly don’t know how they got to where they are. Their life consumes them. For some, it is their job. For others, their kids or aging parents. Let’s face it, we live in an instant gratification society geared for convenience and speed. We run out the door in the morning, skip meals throughout the day, fight traffic and race home. We grab food on the go. We even hire companies to grocery shop for us or prep meals because we simply do not have the time. Sad but true… those who find themselves waiting for more time, money, etc. only find themselves caught in the vicious cycle of “so-called” life – the rat race. They get comfortable in their routine; they get complacent. To be comfortable and complacent isn’t the worst thing in the world, right? It means we’re doing something well, and we should stay on that path. Think again! Before we know it, we find ourselves slowly sinking into a routine, going through the motions, and “poof”, we’re neck deep in the quicksand, and it’s too late! I can relate. That was me.
